Locates at the same latitude as Bordeaux and
California, Huailai, 130km to the northwest of
Beijing, with Guanting reservoir to the north and
Yanshan mountain range to the south, boasts the best
soil and climate for grape planting. Most major
Chinese brands such as Dragon Seal, Great Wall,
Rongchen settle their wineries there. The
Sino-French winery project was launched in Huailai
in 2000, with the best facilities, techniques and
grape seedlings imported and instructed, the plant
is targeted to serve as the demonstrating field for
guiding the whole wine industry. |
